Post Market Update- Markets end in green but off highs

Stocks in the news-

1. Paras Defence gets order worth Rs. 45 cr from BEL for supply of processing & multi-sensor fusion system.

2. Ultra Tech board approved selling up to 6.49% stake in India Cements via OFS.

Indian indices-

The benchmark indices ended higher for the sixth straight session on August 21, 2025, the longest gaining streak in over two months. On the sectoral front, pharma, realty rose 0.5% each, while auto, FMCG down 0.5% each. The BSE midcap and smallcap indices ended on flat note. At close, the Sensex was up 142.87 points or 0.17% at 82,000.71, and the Nifty was up 33.20 points or 0.13% at 25,083.75.

Rupee ended at 87.27/$ Vs. August 20 close of 87.07/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Jupiter Wagons rose 4.12% to Rs. 343.45, after company gets LoI for an order worth Rs. 215 crores for supply of Vande Bharat wheelsets.

2. India Cements gained 5.73% to Rs. 391.20, after UltraTech Cement announced plan to sell its 6.49% stake via OFS.

3. Ola Electric dipped 8.42% to Rs. 48.83, after VAHAN data shows rival Ather leading sales.

Global Signals-

Asian markets were mixed. Jakarta Composite down 0.67%, Nikkei 225 down 0.62%, Hang Seng down 0.39%, Kospi up 0.37%, Straits Times up 0.27%, Shanghai Composite 0.13%.

European markets were lower. CAC 40 down 0.58%, FTSE 100 down 0.35% and DAX down 0.26%.
