Indian indices-

The benchmark indices ended lower on July 09, 2025, as selling pressure was seen among index heavyweights. Investor sentiment remained weak amid India-US trade deal concerns and the beginning of the Q1 earnings season. Talking about sector, Metal, Realty and Oil & Gas indices down 1.4% each, media, IT, PSU Bank down 0.5% each, while FMCG, auto, Consumer Durables up 0.3-0.8%. The BSE midcap index was ended flat, while smallcap index added 0.45%. The Sensex was down 176.43 points or 0.21% at 83,536.08. The Nifty was down 46.40 points or 0.18% at 25,476.10.

IT stocks were underpressure ahead of TCS' Q1 earnings.

Rupee ended at 85.67/$ against July 08, 2025 closed of 85.70/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Hindustan Copper slipped 3.29% to Rs. 264.70, after Trump calls for 50% tariff on copper imports.

2. Union Bank fell 3.76% to Rs. 144.60, in weak Q1 update.

3. KPI Green Energy gained 2.03% to Rs. 517.40, on approval for incorporating SPV.

Global Signals-

Asia-Pacific markets trade mixed after Trump rules out tariff deadline extension.

European markets were higher. The French CAC 40 up 1.28%, Germany’s DAX up 1.05%, while London’s FTSE 100 is 0.30% higher.
