Post Market Update- Sensex plunges 572 points, Nifty below 24,700

Stocks in the news-

Earnings-

1. TTK Prestige Q1 net profit down 36% YoY at Rs. 27 Cr.

2. Nippon Life India Asset Management Q1 net profit gains 19.3% YoY at Rs. 396 cr.

Indian indices-

Indian equities ended lower on July 28, 2025, dragged down by selling pressure across banking, IT, and realty counters. The disappointing set of Q1 earnings, delays in the India-US trade agreement, and continued FII outflows also led the market to closed lower. Among sector, except pharma, all other sectoral indices ended in the red. BSE Midcap index shed 0.73% and smallcap index fell 1.31%. At close, the Sensex was down 572.07 points or 0.70% at 80,891.02. The Nifty was down 156.10 points or 0.63% at 24,680.90.

Rupee ended at 86.67/$ against July 25 close of 86.52/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) down by 1.76% to Rs. 3,079.05, after company announced to cut 2% of global workforce.

2. Adani Green Energy Ltd rose by 2.93% to Rs. 1,004.55, as Q1 net profit surged 31% YoY at Rs 824 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025.

3. Thangamayil Jewellery slipped by 2.40% to Rs. 1,793.80, as its net profit fell 19.3% YoY at Rs. 45.7 cr for the quarter ended June 30, 2025.
