Post Market Update- Sensex up 900 points, Nifty reclaims 22,900

Stocks in the news-

1. Jupiter Wagons gets order worth Rs. 1,140 Cr from Railways Minister for 2,583 Wagons.

2. Coforge launched autonomous software factory, an operating model for managing AI agents.

Earnings-

1. Asian Paints Q2 net profit rose by 7.6% YoY to Rs. 1,068 Cr.

2. Symphony Q2 net profit gained 41.2% YoY to Rs. 24 Cr.

3. Greaves Cotton Q2 net profit fell 81% YoY to Rs. 5 Cr.

Indian indices-

Indian equities closed in the green on October 29 as investors turned positive after the US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged. The rally was supported by strong buying in FMCG, IT, PSU banking and other heavyweight stocks. Easing crude oil prices also provided some relief to investors. At close, the Sensex was up 905.01 points or 1.24% at 74,151.04, and the Nifty was up 237.90 points or 1.05% at 22,936.75.

Rupee closed at 95.26/$ Vs Wednesday’s close of 95.22/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Jupiter Wagons jumped 6.34% to Rs. 192.90 after the company secured an order worth Rs 1,140 crore, including taxes, from the Ministry of Railways for the manufacture and supply of 2,583 BOXNHL and BOXNS wagons.

2. V-Guard Industries gained 7.57% to Rs. 285, as Q2 profit surged 72% to Rs. 112 crores for the Quarter ended September 30, 2026.

3. Birlasoft surged 11.89% to Rs. 342.65, after the IT services company reported a 37.5% YoY increase in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to Rs. 159.6 crore in Q2 FY27.

Global Signals-

Asian equities were mixed after rebounding on improved risk sentiment, as concerns about aggressive artificial-intelligence spending continued to linger.

European markets were higher, supported by easing oil prices and optimism after the US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged.
