Economic Update-

1. May WPI Inflation came in at 0.39% Vs. 0.85% (MoM)

Indian indices-

The benchmark indices staged a sharp rebound on June 16, 2025, after a two-day decline driven by an escalating Israel-Iran conflict. All the sectoral indices ended in the green with IT, metal, realty, oil & gas up 1% each. The BSE midcap index added 0.93% and smallcap rose 0.38%. At close, the Sensex was up 677.55 points or 0.84% at 81,796.15. The Nifty was up 227.90 points or 0.92% at 24,946.50.

Rupee ended at 86.07/$ against June 13 close of 86.08/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. Tata Motors slipped 3.56% to Rs. 686.70, as JLR flags 'close to zero' cash flow in FY26, macro risks.

2. Arkade Developers rose 4.96% to Rs. 200.95, on Rs. 2,000 crore Thane project foray.

3. Omaxe jumped 13.76% to Rs. 107.50, after announcing Rs. 1,000 crore investment in Amritsar township.

Global Signals-

Asia-Pacific markets rose as investors parse China data, assess Israel-Iran tensions.

European markets were trading with gains. CAC 40 up 0.72%, FTSE 100 up 0.40% and DAX up 0.33%.
